Bangkok, 02 April, 2021 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is delighted to announce that the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) has certified the Amazing Thailand Safety and Health Administration (SHA) certification programme to be on par with the WTTC SafeTravels global health and hygiene standardised protocols.
WTTC’s approval of the Amazing Thailand SHA certification in alignment with the WTTC SafeTravels protocols is testament to Thailand’s effective health and hygiene standards that have over the year placed the kingdom among the best in the world for the ongoing COVID-19 recovery effort.
Also, WTTC’s approval means that Thai stakeholders who have been awarded the Amazing Thailand SHA certificate will be endorsed to display both the WTTC SafeTravels and Amazing Thailand SHA logos in their respective places of business.
What is SHA?
The Amazing Thailand Safety and Health Administration (SHA) project is a result of cooperation between the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), the Ministry of Public Health, the Department of Disease Control, the Department of Health and the Department of Health Service Support, as well as government and private sector organizations involved in the tourism industry. Together they aim to make tourism a part of Thailand’s disease prevention measures and ensure that both Thai and foreign tourists have a positive experience, that they are happy and confident in the sanitation and safety standards of Thailand’s tourism products and services.
Various boards, federations, and associations in the tourism industry are in charge of inspecting the checklist and certifying the result of improving a workplace according to the SHA standards. Workplaces are divided into 10 types: 1. restaurants / diners, 2. hotel, accommodation and meeting place, 3. recreational activity and tourist attraction, 4. transportation, 5. travel agency, 6. health and beauty, 7. department store and shopping centers, 8. sports for tourism, 9. theater, entertainment, and activity, 10. souvenir shop and other shops.
TAT awards SHA certificates, assigns a serial number to successful entrepreneurs, and records it in the database of the list of entrepreneurs who have received the SHA certificate. The TAT can also revoke the SHA certificate if entrepreneurs fail to comply with SHA standards.
SHA provides sanitation and safety standards for tourists. During the re-opening period of establishments or services, tourists and service recipients are asked to provide any suggestions (Post Audit) via the online system provided by TAT, which will be used for further improvement. Establishments will be randomly inspected by the committee.

Nong Nooch Tropical Garden & Resort is well known to those who want to take in an impressive Thai Cultural Show and find the biggest and most beautiful botanical garden in Southeast Asia. More than 2,000 visitors from around the world visit this garden daily for their enjoyment. At Nong Nooch Tropical Garden, efforts have always been made to develop and improve its beautification process in order for the garden to look as it does today. Nong Nooch garden is also dedicated to education, preservation, research as well as the conservation of its vast palm collection and other tropical plants.
Suan Nong Nooch is about 15 kilometers from South Pattaya.The entire area of some 500 acres is beautifully landscaped,with orchid nursery and other botanical gardens.It is a Thai village style with recreation - vacation park. there are also cultural and traditional performances and an elephant show.The famous -Cultural Extravaganza- is presented four times a day at 10.30 hrs., 13.30 hrs., 14.30 hrs., 15.30 hrs., 16.30 hrs.. Witness the pomp and splendour of Thai tradition and ceremonies, graceful dances from all over the country, sword fighting, Thai kick-boxing, and much more, featuring hundreds of multi-talented performers in a fascinating one and- a- half hour show.The beautiful landscape also locates Thai Cultural Center, presenting groups of traditional Thai houses and cultural shows such as martial arts, hill tribe music and dance, a Thai wedding ceremony, a Buddhist ordination ceremony as well as elephant show, performing three times a day. A collection of Thai antiques is also exhibited at this tropical garden, where visitors can taste traditional Thai food. Souvenirs and handicrafts from all over the kingdom can be purchased at the garden´s shopping mall.Nong Nooch Tropical Garden is about 18 kilometers south of Pattaya. To go there, take Sukhumvit Road, turn left at Km. 163. There is also a half-day tour leaving from Pattaya every day.

- The technicalites of the booking form are captured and retained for a maximum of 60 days. This is required so that On Request bookings can be turned into full bookings once a booking is approved, and for analysis by our teams in case there is an issue with a booking. If you were not logged in when you made a booking then we will email you a username and password so that you can view your booking history and exercise your Right To Be Forgotten (RTBF) if you wish to do that.
- Data entered into the booking form, for example name, email address, real address is stored for a maximum of 365 days after the booking's departure date. This information is stored in encrypted form in our database so that only authorised people can view it. If you make a booking then by law we must store your PII whilst the booking is valid. Once the booking has completed, either because it has been cancelled or you have been checked out, then you will be able to exercise your RTBF by logging in and visiting the "Your data" page. Invoice information for completed bookings will still be securely stored in our database to ensure that we abide by relevant tax laws but you will be able to remove all other PII after the booking is completed.
- When you consent to your information being stored as described above, we are legally obliged to store this consent in our database. This information will include your IP number and the content of the opt-in form. We will retain this consent notification indefinately (this is a legal requirement).
