What is SHA?

LOGO SHAThe Amazing Thailand Safety and Health Administration (SHA) project is a result of cooperation between the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), the Ministry of Public Health, the Department of Disease Control, the Department of Health and the Department of Health Service Support, as well as government and private sector organizations involved in the tourism industry. Together they aim to make tourism a part of Thailand’s disease prevention measures and ensure that both Thai and foreign tourists have a positive experience, that they are happy and confident in the sanitation and safety standards of Thailand’s tourism products and services.

Various boards, federations, and associations in the tourism industry are in charge of inspecting the checklist and certifying the result of improving a workplace according to the SHA standards. Workplaces are divided into 10 types: 1. restaurants / diners, 2. hotel, accommodation and meeting place, 3. recreational activity and tourist attraction, 4. transportation, 5. travel agency, 6. health and beauty, 7. department store and shopping centers, 8. sports for tourism, 9. theater, entertainment, and activity, 10. souvenir shop and other shops.

TAT awards SHA certificates, assigns a serial number to successful entrepreneurs, and records it in the database of the list of entrepreneurs who have received the SHA certificate. The TAT can also revoke the SHA certificate if entrepreneurs fail to comply with SHA standards.

SHA provides sanitation and safety standards for tourists. During the re-opening period of establishments or services, tourists and service recipients are asked to provide any suggestions (Post Audit) via the online system provided by TAT, which will be used for further improvement. Establishments will be randomly inspected by the committee.

06:00 hrs. Meet our guide in the hotel´s lobby.

Depart from hotel for Lumpini Park near Silom road. Take a morning walk at Lumpini Park, the largest public park in Bangkok, and enjoy many other activities, e.g. aerobics, tai-chi, jogging, dancing.

Visit Yaowarat Road (Chinatown) to observe the Chinese Thais´ way of life.

Visit Pak Khlong Talat, the biggest flower market in Bangkok, to admire a large variety of flowers, both imported and local.

Visit Wat Benchamabophit (The Marble Temple), one of the most beautiful temples in Bangkok which was built in the reign of King Rama V. Its main chapel was built with the white Carara Italian marble.

The information is stored for different time periods depending on the nature of your visit. So, if you are just looking around we will store approximate geographical location (country level) information. If you perform searches, then to make search forms more user friendly we will store the last things you searched on. This information is typically stored for a maximum of 24 hours and is only used to make your visit more pleasant.

When you make a booking with us, by necessity more information is stored.

  1. The technicalites of the booking form are captured and retained for a maximum of 60 days. This is required so that On Request bookings can be turned into full bookings once a booking is approved, and for analysis by our teams in case there is an issue with a booking. If you were not logged in when you made a booking then we will email you a username and password so that you can view your booking history and exercise your Right To Be Forgotten (RTBF) if you wish to do that.
  2. Data entered into the booking form, for example name, email address, real address is stored for a maximum of 365 days after the booking's departure date. This information is stored in encrypted form in our database so that only authorised people can view it. If you make a booking then by law we must store your PII whilst the booking is valid. Once the booking has completed, either because it has been cancelled or you have been checked out, then you will be able to exercise your RTBF by logging in and visiting the "Your data" page. Invoice information for completed bookings will still be securely stored in our database to ensure that we abide by relevant tax laws but you will be able to remove all other PII after the booking is completed.
  3. When you consent to your information being stored as described above, we are legally obliged to store this consent in our database. This information will include your IP number and the content of the opt-in form. We will retain this consent notification indefinately (this is a legal requirement).

Q: How/when will I receive my ticket ?

  1. After the payment is made, we will send our voucher to the requested tour/show/accommodaton/service.
  2. After they confirm the voucher, we will send the confirmation to you. You can print the confirmed voucher and present it to the tour/show/accommodation/service staff.
  3. The confirmed voucher can be exchanged for a ticket at the counter of your place of destination.
  4. You will receive our confirmation within one working day after you make the payment. (Office closed on Sunday and Public holidays)

Q: Can I make a booking and pay cash for the ticket on delivery ?

A: No, cannot. An advance payment is required. To receive a special price ticket like this, all the agents are required to pay for the ticket in advance as well.

Q: What are the payment options?

A:  There are two choices.
  • Credit card payment - This is very convenient. You can book and make your payment right away from our website.
  • Bank Transfer - For bank transfer, please contact us via email and our bank details will be sent to you.

Q: Refund ?

A: Alex Holiday will provide a full refund in case we cannot deliver the services to paid clients In case clients request for a refund when it's through no fault of Alex Holiday, there will be a processing fee of 300 Baht

Q: What are the meanings of "join" or "join tour" and "private" or "private tour" ?

A: Clients who book our join tour please note that:
  • The hotel pick-up and drop-off times are fixed according to our prior confirmation email as we have other passengers on the van.
  • The definite number of passengers of each group cannot be confirmed in advance but is limited to the maximum number of seats on the vehicle.
  • The number of persons showing up in your group should be the same as indicated in your booking details. Otherwise, the correct amount of money should be paid before departure or it will result in cancellation of your booking.  
For private tour clients, the vehicle is reserved for your group only. You may contact us in advance if you want to change either the pick-up or drop-off time or if you need to make any change to your program. The details might be changed to suit your requirements as long as it doesn’t cost additional expense.
